Surrey Business Excellence Awards Committee


Mandate:
This committee focuses on nominations which are short-listed to three finalists in each award category. Teams of two people from the committee interview the finalists. They ask in-depth questions about the business and the people in it. A detailed assessment form from the National Quality Institute Awards of Canada is used to shortlist the finalists and to determine the winners. The core competencies are: organizational profile, leadership, strategy development and planning, customer focus and market knowledge, employee learning and people focus, process management, supplier/partner focus and overall business performance related to their success and community involvement. For final determination of the winners, the Chair of the Governors Council and the current Surrey Board of Trade President, give their President’s seal of approval on the committee’s selected recipients.

Team meetings take place at 4pm in the Surrey Board of Trade conference room on the following dates: October 16, Nov 19, February 19, March 19, April 16, May 21, June 10
