Finance & Taxation Team


Mandate:
To consider and report on matters of concern in the field of finance and taxation
To recommend action for the adoption of Canadian Chamber policy as approved by the Board
To initiate the preparation of policy reviews, analyses, and reports on finance/taxation issues.
To make submissions to the Ministers of Finance and National Revenue on items relating to the field of taxation.

Areas of Focus:
1. Position statements for the Provincial and Federal Budgets
2. Fuel increases - GST on fuel
3. Carbon Tax - work in conjunction with Environment Committee
4. City Budget Consultations - Fall 2008
5. Education: Creation of a top ten stupid tax list

Team meetings take place at 8am in the Surrey Board of Trade conference room on the following dates: September 10, October 8, November 12, December 10, January 14, February 11, March 11, April 8, May 13
