Transportation plan
The Surrey Transportation sets out proposals and strategies to deliver a quality, sustainable and integrated transportation system for the City of Surrey. It provides strategies, objectives and performance measures for updating our local transportation system.
City of Surrey Economic Action Plan, September 2009
Plan sets out the actions that will be taken to invigorate the economy in our City over the next 3 years.
Economic Development plan
The City of Surrey’s economic development vision is to support a high quality of life for its residents, workforce and visitors through sustainable development that carefully integrates economic, environmental and social/cultural interests. A powerpoint presentation to the Surrey Board of Trade is also available.
Sustainability Charter
The City of Surrey has developed a Sustainability Charter, an overarching policy document that will guide the City’s approach to social, cultural, environmental, and economic sustainability in the future.

Employment Lands Strategy
Surrey's employment goal is to have a one to one ratio of jobs and residents and a more balanced property tax base. The Employment Lands Strategy defines a vision and strategy for Surrey's employment lands that is grounded in an understanding of local and regional issues, opportunities, and constraints, and that responds to the project goals, as defined by the City.
Surrey Literacy for Business
Report from Mayor’s Task Force on Literacy and Early Childhood Development
Councillor Judy Higginbotham was appointed Chair of the Mayor’s Task Force on Literacy and Early Childhood Development in December 2006. The task force was asked to identify key concerns and advise the Mayor and Council on how the City could address the issue.
The Task Force developed a number of recommendations and has produced a final report called Learning for Life, Report of the Mayor’s Task Force on Literacy and Early Childhood Development.

Presentations to the task force included Literacy Now and Literacy BC, the Human Early Learning Partnership, Surrey White Rock Make Children First, representatives from the R.C.M.P., the School District and Fraser Health.
Topics covered “crime prevention and youth, literacy planning, helping learners connect with programs and services, the Early Development Indicator and school readiness research, daycare in Surrey, special needs of refugee children and parents, programs to help students complete high school and the perinatal programs at Fraser Health.”
